How to Apply Sapphire Metallic Paint

It is important to note that Meoded Sapphire Metallic will not adhere to shiny or glossy surfaces, so be sure to use an appropriate primer as a base coat. Meoded recommends tinting the primer to be similar to your metallic paint color or using a flat base paint with a similar color.

You will need high-quality tools to apply Sapphire Metallic paint, such as a brush, roller, or HVLP sprayer with a tip size between 1 and 3. The spray-on method will give the best-finished results. You may need to thin the formula with water, but only up to 10%.

When spraying the paint, do so at a distance of 12-24 inches from the surface. Spray lightly and move evenly and consistently to prevent buildup or pooling of the product. Also, be sure to stir the paint regularly while you are working. Let the first coat dry for 3-4 hours before applying the second coat. Then, allow at least 6-8 hours for drying, although it may take up to 7 days to fully cure.

If you prefer a roller or brush, apply the paint quickly and consistently in a uniform pattern while keeping a wet edge. Different stroke patterns and techniques can create various effects, but the finished results will not appear as uniform as spraying.
